Assessment of the impact on Central Riyadh’s historical heritage

The project follows the 2030 Vision for the Kingdom and is part of a wider regeneration strategy for central Riyadh which includes urban and socio-economic aspects.
The work is the continuation of the Heritage Impact Assessment performed for North and Central districts of Central Riyadh; the survey, classification and definition criteria of intervention has been applied to Urban Heritage of the districts of Shemaese, Dubeah, Meekal, North Salam Park, Dubeah, Meekal, Wesata, Qrai, Jubrah and Buteha, Sheemase, Um Salim,Al Oud, Alamal, Thulaem, Magrab, Saleheah, Gubaira. Thulaem, Magrab, Saleheah, Gubaira.

The Heritage strategy focuses on the identification of the heritage asset referring to UNESCO standards and SCTH heritage classification and aims to identify key areas to be studied and developed, generating a coherent integrated network of intervention which will start the process of rehabilitation of the heritage asset contributing to the overall regeneration of Central Riyadh.
